We’re delighted to announce that several Navigator Records artists have been nominated for the 2013 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards which will take place at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on 30 January 2013 as part of the prestigious Celtic Connections festival. Once again the awards are open to the public and tickets can be bought from the Celtic Connections box office. The nominees were announced last night on Mike Harding’s BBC Radio 2 show which you can listen to now on the iPlayer.
In the best duo category Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts and Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman have both been nominated, Kathryn and Sean have also been nominated in the Best Original Song category for their haunting song ‘The Ballad of Andy Jacobs’.
In the Best Group category, which is open to a public vote (You can cast your vote here) Bellowhead and Treacherous Orchestra both receive nominations, whilst Bellowhead are also nominated in the Best Album category for ‘Broadside’. A big congratulations to all of the nominees!
